Training Duration and Structure for PMA Long Course 156

The Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Long Course is a prestigious 2-year training program, divided into four terms of six months each. Upon successful completion, cadets are commissioned as Second Lieutenants in the Pakistan Army.

  • 1st Term: Introduction to military discipline and basic physical training
  • 2nd Term: Training in military tactics and strategies
  • 3rd Term: Advanced military and leadership training
  • 4th Term: Preparation for commissioning

Education & Age Criteria for PMA Long Course 156

Eligibility Criteria

  • Gender: Only Male candidates
  • Nationality: Citizens of Pakistan, including Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan
  • Height: Minimum 5′ 4″ (162.5 cm)
  • Marks Requirement:
    • 55% in FA/FSc
    • 60% in Graduation/Masters with 50% in FA/FSc
    • Serving Soldiers: Minimum 50% in FA/FSc
  • Medical Fitness: Must be medically fit as per Army standards

Selection Procedure

  1. Advertisement
    Official announcement published in leading newspapers and on the Army’s website.
  2. Online Registration
    Candidates must register through the official website before the deadline.
  3. Written/Intelligence Test
    Shortlisted candidates are called for written and verbal aptitude tests.
  4. Initial Medical Examination
    Candidates passing the tests undergo a preliminary medical checkup.
  5. Physical Test
    Includes:
    • 1.6 km Run
    • Push-ups, Pull-ups
    • Ditch crossing
    • Crunches
    • Height check
  6. Interview
    Conducted by a panel at PMA for shortlisted candidates.
  7. Final Selection
    Based on performance in all the above phases.
