Abu Dhabi Launches Talent Program to Create Latest Jobs

Abu Dhabi Launches Talent Program to Create Latest 13,600 Jobs. The Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) has introduced the Industrial Talent Programme to address the increasing demand for knowledge-based jobs in the industrial sector. The program aims to develop, attract, and upskill human capital in Abu Dhabi, aligning with the Abu Dhabi Industrial Strategy (ADIS) objectives.

At the inaugural Abu Dhabi Industrial Talent Majlis, Rashed Abdulkarim Al Blooshi, Undersecretary of ADDED, announced the program. The event brought together top executives from manufacturing companies, educational institutions, and young talent representatives to discuss talent development and job market efficiency.

The Industrial Talent Programme is led by ADDED’s Industrial Development Bureau (IDB) in collaboration with key partners, including the Abu Dhabi Human Resources Authority, the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, the Abu Dhabi Residents Office (ADRO), and the Abu Dhabi Youth Council. The program aims to develop and attract talent while upskilling the existing workforce in Abu Dhabi’s industrial sector, which is undergoing significant changes due to advanced manufacturing methods.

Over the next five years, the program will implement various initiatives to bridge the gap between talent supply and demand in the job market. These initiatives include awareness sessions for students and employers, funded and co-funded training for the workforce, as well as incentives and talent attraction programs.

The Industrial Talent Programme is an integral part of ADIS, which aims to strengthen Abu Dhabi’s position as the most competitive industrial hub in the region. Talent development is one of the six transformational programs in which Abu Dhabi is investing AED10 billion, with the goal of doubling the size of the manufacturing sector, creating skilled jobs, and increasing non-oil exports by 2031.

By focusing on targeted sub-sectors such as food manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, machinery, electrical and electronic products, and transportation, the program aims to equip talent with technical and soft skills relevant to Industry 4.0, including automation, Internet-of-Things, big data, and digital technologies.

Arafat Al Yafei, Executive Director of IDB, emphasized the importance of talent development in Abu Dhabi’s journey toward becoming a leading industrial hub. The program will support the industrial transition by addressing the supply side and ensuring that talent is equipped with the necessary skills to thrive in the advanced and digitized industry.

During the announcement event, the first cohort of the “Tech Champions” program graduated. This pilot program focused on providing Industry 4.0 skills to employees in the food manufacturing sector in Abu Dhabi.
